Department spokesman Nathan Dunn said Tuesday that Biogenesis of America owner Tony Bosch paid a $3,000 fine and signed a cease-and-desist order in July. The department had originally sought $5,000.

Bosch was issued a Uniform Unlicensed Activity Citation for the profession of medicine.

The agreement was first reported by ESPN.

Bosch, alleged to have provided banned performance-enhancing drugs to major leaguers, is now cooperating with baseball's investigators.

Rodriguez was suspended for 211 games by MLB on Aug. 5, and the players' association filed a grievance to overturn the discipline. Attorneys for the New York Yankees third baseman have said MLB's investigation is based on stolen documents and questionable testimony.
