Fans have been waiting for Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova to arrive on Hawkeye since it was confirmed before the show even aired that she was a part of the cast. The fourth episode of the series premiered on Wednesday and finally re-introduced the fan-favorite character, but not long after, Pugh apparently got blocked from posting Hawkeye-related news on Instagram.

On the social media platform, Pugh revealed that she had been reported by some Hawkeye fans for revealing her appearance in the series. “I never thought me posting love about a show in which I appear on would get taken down. Beyond ridiculous,” the actor wrote in one of her Instagram Stories. She referred to being on Hawkeye as a privilege and went on to thank everyone who welcomed her on set and on the series.

It is unclear what the blocking means for Pugh, as her previous posts about the big reveal have not been taken down yet. Prior to posting the information about her blocking, Pugh shared the entire scene from the latest Hawkeye episode where her character is revealed. In the clip, which was obviously recorded by Pugh as she watched the episode on a television screen, the actor provides funny sound effects for the archery shots. She then cheers when her character is finally revealed, after a long fight with Clint Barton.

Pugh also shared screen grabs from the Hawkeye scene as a post on Instagram, with the caption, “…She’s here. #hawkeyeseries #YelenaBelova.” In the first image, Yelena’s back is towards the camera, which is just after she fires a taser at Barton. The second image shows Yelena looking forward, which is the part of the scene where she turns around, looks at Kate Bishop, and shakes her head.

When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fan theories surface on the internet before any project is released. Fans discuss potential plots and try to analyze every trailer for Easter eggs and any clues towards hidden characters. However, the community never appreciates spoilers. Fans try their best to avoid any details related to MCU projects, especially on social media, prior to its release. Pugh revealing her appearance in the latest Hawkeye episode was evidently not received well by some fans who hadn’t watched the episode yet.

Hawkeye is streaming on Disney Plus.
