Christian Garcia was taking the trash out from the bar he worked at when he noticed a man and a woman behind the dumpster. At first he though the situation was consensual, but then he noticed the woman was unconscious.

“The girl was basically unconscious, so I knew there was no way she could be giving consent,” Garcia told First Coast News .
Garcia noticed some of the man’s friends watching the assault, but they didn’t do anything to try and stop it.
He said he and a coworker went up to the man, who was identified as Christopher Shaw, and told him to stop. That’s when Garcia said Shaw tried to punch him.
There was a struggle and Shaw was able to get away from Garcia and the coworker.
Police later apprehended Shaw, who is being charged with sexual battery. Police believe the 19-year-old woman isn’t Shaw’s first victim.
“I hold strong moral values and I don’t think anyone should be taken advantage of in that kind of way,” Garcia said.
