The video of the incident between a police officer and the unnamed Florida man was posted on the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page on Tuesday.

The video was dated on February 24, 2022, the same day that Russia began invading Ukraine.

The officer pulled over the motorist in the L section of Palm Coast on Thursday afternoon and questioned the driver on why he was speeding. The driver repeatedly apologized as he was asked to produce his license and registration, the video showed.

After handing them over, the driver said he was rushing home to find out more information about a potential nuclear strike from Putin.

“To tell you the truth, I just found out that Putin has just said he is going to launch nuclear thermal war against the world,” the driver explained to the officer.

“I was trying to get back to my house to find out what is going on.

“I’m freaking out here, okay. I have got people in Ukraine.” The video then faded out.

Newsweek has contacted the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office for comment.

Despite the driver’s fears, on February 24, Putin did not announce that he would be waging war against the world with nuclear weapons.

“I’ve decided to conduct a special military operation. The goal is to protect the people who for eight years suffered from bullying and genocide from the Kyiv regime,” Putin said in a speech released on February 24.

Putin also called on Ukraine’s military to lay down their weapons.

“We urge you to lay down arms immediately and go home.

“All servicemen of the Ukrainian army who comply with this requirement can freely leave the area of military actions and return to their families,” he said.

Putin did issue a threat to other nations tempted to intervene but did not specifically say he would use nuclear weapons.

“Whoever would try to stop us and further create threats to our country, to our people, should know that Russia’s response will be immediate and lead you to such consequences that you have never faced in your history.

“We are ready for any outcome.”

The conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues as Putin attempts to capture the capital city of Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that nearly 6,000 Russians had been killed since the beginning of the invasion.
